The crowd will be entertained by a brilliant line up of performers including international DJ Sigala, singer-songwriter Pixie Lott, the cast of ELF: The Musical, and everyone’s favourite ogre Shrek who returns this year to The Palace Theatre. It is sure to be a fun-filled night for all the family.
For those students new to Fallowfield, the annual bus journey along Oxford Road in early November to Albert Square is a rite of passage in the run up to Christmas festivities. However, do take caution to arrive early as once capacity to this free event is reached entrance will be restricted.
As is custom, this evening will shortly be followed by the annual Manchester Christmas Markets opening on November 10th.
Launched in 1999 at St Ann’s Square, the markets now into their nineteenth year spread across the city centre from Exchange Square all the way up Market Street. The streets are lined with stalls and chalets selling everything from festive decorations to gifts, clothes and jewellery.
There is a wide range of mouth-watering international food and drink to cater for everybody so it is safe to say that it would be the perfect group outing for students to celebrate the end of their first term here at university before heading home for a well-deserved rest.
For those staying in Manchester a little later, the markets stretch all way until Thursday 21st December so there is plenty of time to ensure you sample some Yuletide treats.
